Build the deck list for artwork handover.
List every card face, any repeated card back, jokers, title cards, dividers, instruction cards, guidebook pages and packaging components. Give each item a consistent name or number. This is useful whether the deck is for play, learning, tarot, oracle, promotion or a game.
Plan the safe area around the card content.
Important type, symbols and borders need room from the finished edge. The exact allowance depends on the confirmed card template, corner direction and production route, so do not rely on a generic file from an unrelated deck.
Separate the components that are physically separate.
Keep card faces, card back, box artwork, inserts and guidebook files clearly distinguished. Tell us which pieces are optional and which belong in every deck. A packaging decision should include the deck thickness and any companion material, not only a box cover image.
Check the sequence like a user would.
Open the exported PDF or card set in order. Look for missing numbers, duplicated cards, the wrong back, unintended rotations and content that is too close to trim. If an order matters for gameplay or learning, include that in the handover notes.
